CLIFFS AND THE FLYING FOX

Climbing garden and Ötzi Rope Park in Val Senales

Summer camping in South Tyrol offers plenty of changes of perspective. Would you like to take to the skies and see the world from above? Not far from the Caravan Park is a high ropes course and climbing garden that entices brave climbers to come out of their shells. One more deep breath and off you go!

LARIX FERRATA

Since June the new 'Larix' (larch in Latin) via ferrata with suspension bridges, exciting rope slides and a parallel hiking trail (marked by red crosses) are open. The challenging via ferrata is of medium difficulty and also suitable for experienced families. The entrance is located at the foot of the large Kurzrasbach waterfall and leads towards the Teufelsegg hut (unmanned). The 'Alpin Trail' hiking trail runs partly along this, allowing you to observe and accompany the climbers. Whether you are a leisurely hiker or an arduous climber, you will find what you are looking for here.

THE ÖTZI ROPE PARK

The Ötzi Rope Park is located just 2 kilometres from the Caravan Park above Lake Vernago. The scenery alone is worth the trip, and anyone who dares to whiz across the gorge on the Flying Fox will no doubt fall in love with the views. Balance, skill and courage are the best companions on the various courses. They lead climbers both small and large over beams, ropes and wooden blocks. The high ropes course is open from the end of April to the end of October and you can reach it enjoying a short hike or by public bus.

MARCHEGG CLIMBING GARDEN

Also only 2 kilometres away is the Marchegg climbing garden which is set in a dreamlike location. Here, the steep rock face, which contains slate gneiss and mica slate can be conquered from spring to late autumn. The climbing garden is family-friendly and suitable for beginners and experts alike. In summer there are introductory climbing courses for children and adults. There is also a 25-metre via ferrata to climb.
