Increasingly unsettled in the north
A north-westerly wind at altitude will continue to carry cold air masses towards the Alps.
There are plenty of clouds right along the alpine crest, and it starts to snow lightly in the morning. In the afternoon and evening, the snow showers become heavier and spread to the Ortler Group. In the Dolomites, it is sunnier, with a few clouds passing through at times.

Strong north wind, cold
Cold air masses and the northerly upper-level flow is strengthening.
It will snow in the mountains in the north this morning, with occasional snow showers also in the Sarntal Alps. Elsewhere, it will be dry and fairly sunny, but a very cold and gusty north wind will be blowing.
Forecast
On Wednesday, thicker patches of cloud will alternate with sunny spells, and the foehn wind will ease off slightly. Thursday will be mainly sunny with a few high clouds. The sun is also expected to shine widely on Friday. The foehn wind will persist, particularly in the north. Saturday will bring plenty of sunshine. The foehn wind will die down everywhere and it will get warmer.
